Amazing things your children say....

We were at my mother in laws (Lesyle's) house New Years day with Trevor's brothers kids (Jayleigh and Keagan). Eli and Keagan had joined forces and decided that one of them should get to go to the other one's house for the night. Eli comes and asks "Can Keagan come to my home?" We tell him not tonight. He dosen't like that but he goes on about his merry way. Then he comes back and asks if he can go to Keagans house. He has always been persistent about things he wants. I tell him "No, Let's all stay at our own houses tonight." I feel this way because we just finished the hustle and bustle of Christmas and Eli's birthday and have plans to attend a after Christmas party this Saturday night. We are planning on taking Jayleigh and she is spending the night.
The kids go on about their business playing, fighting and screaming like they always do together. A little while later, Eli brings in a book from Lesyle's bookshelf (paperback novel) and opens it up, takes it to his daddy and says (pointing to the words in the book) "See daddy, its says right here, Eli can go to Keagans house." We all laugh and tell him nice try, but No he is not going even though that was pretty creative. A few minutes later after hearing a little crash (books from Lesyle's bookshelf falling), Eli brings 2 other book to his Unci J and asks him if they say he can come to their house.
My sister in law said it best "As infuriating as he can be, He is an amazing kid. I agree of course, he is an amazing kid.
